Wow this true even for the older cusp/x-generation. Having never owned a home at this point I never will. Nor will I have kids. And so, won’t contribute to the economy as previous generations have with traditional households being formed. I will however buy a car when needed and go out to dinner. If you see me out at dinner and complaining about rent, it’s not that I’m not saving money it’s just that it’s the only perk left to being a non-(usually tech) millionaire in this economy.
